Sung during the funeral of the last crown prince. A bit awkward considering that most of the people sang along while our preisdent was sitting in the front row...:

Kaiser Otto von Habsburg - Kaiserhymne - národní hymna - Himnusz a császár (mit Untertitel) - YouTube (with subtitles, if someone wants to compare the text to the one thats currently used by Germany.)
Ah, thanks for the heads-up on the "German" national anthem then . Still a beautiful melodie though, no matter which country.

Wales, Scotland, France, Russia and England are among my favourites. Ironically, I get more goosebumps listening to Flower of Scotland, God save the Queen, the anthem of Russia or La Marseillaise than our Deutschlandlied. It has a unique and pleasant melody but lacks the atmospheric and emotional ambience of my favourite anthems. IMO.

Wales

Flower of Scotland

Scotland's unofficial anthem

[quote=André89;30061411]I like the national anthem of the Russian Empire.

The composer, Peter Tschaikovsky, incorported the Russian Imperial anthem - along with France's anthem - and cannons firing - and Orthodox church bells joyously ringing - in his stirring "1812 Overture" which celebrated Imperial Russia's victory over Napoleon Bonaparte's grand army.

But Canadians are so polite and reserved, it often sounds more like: "Oh!, Canada?" Just joking......kind of...
