Because it's got lots of people and lots of these things.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
There are lots Good Australian Actors and Directors around, trouble is there is just not enough money in the Local film industry to support them, so they end up in the USA.
Mind I wish Hollywood would come up with a few new ideas for over marketed blockbusters, right now locally we have Despicable Me 2, Fast and the Furious 6, The Hangover 3, Iron Man 3, what seems to be about the 15th Star Trek Movie, and yet another superman movie showing.
Maybe I am just getting old, sigh!

Canadians are already in, as far as directing, producing, writing ( every wonder why there are so many Canada jokes on many shows? ) acting etc goes.
What Canada is wanting is to be able to make better movies that appeal to a worldwide audience, including the U.S. which would help inject money into making more and better movies.
Quebec already has done this ( also partly from federal funding that the rest of Canada does not get ) in their films, at least to a french speaking audience. Many in France know Quebec through their films.
I'd be curious to know what kind of federal funding is available for French-language productions is available in Canada that is not also available for English-language productions. If there is any culture in Canada that is propped up out of proportion to buy-in and interest from the population, it's the English Canadian one as opposed to the French Canadian one.
It seems that most developed or globalized countries watch american movies and listen to MOSLTY american music, why is that, is there a history for this wonderful country in getting all the fame? Obviously we dont have those boy bands like Justin Biber(canada) or One Direction(UK). By the way i am a huge fan of Adele, the beetles and other artist. Also looking at some countries top movies right now like Australia, al the top movies are american in developed or globalized countries, why is this, does america just get lucky?
The band was from my hometown, but they lived in Stockholm when he played with them.
They should have asked him to join when they reunited to get a larger audience.

Maybe they did but he has a successful music career of his own now.
I'd say UK is second for sure. There are many Canadian celebrities it is true but most aren't known to the world as celebrities so in my eyes this brings down Canada's renown. British celebrities are for the most part closely identified with the UK.
Even Aussie global celebrities are more identified with Oz than Canadian ones are with Canada.
The U.S. has the most developed entertainment industry in the world and is more welcoming to talented people from other cultures/nations than anywhere else. This has kept the U.S. #1 in the world. We also have a culture of success and creativity unmatched anywhere else.
Now will the U.S. continue its hold in these areas and if so, for how long? Who knows.
