China has also stopped being backward because of its government.

Gotta agree. Anyhow, voted Brazil, but Trini is nice too.

The Philippines. Manila is a gritty town but has some great shopping. The restaurants on Roxas Blvd. offer some great food without the high prices. They have a nice aquarium at Ocean Park.

Other parts of the Philippines that I have visited is Bohol, Boracay and Mactan in Cebu. There is nothing more beautiful than a tropical white sand beach in Visayas with some fresh seafood cooked right on the beach. They need to blow up that airport though. Ninoy Aquino Intl. Airport is one of the worst I have ever seen.

My favourite is Cambodia which isn't listed - I've been to two countries in this list and like each for its own reasons:

Thailand: Amazing people, beautiful country and Bangkok is a total blast.. hustle and bustle and an interesting juxtaposition of old and modern.. Great food it is truly the most exciting city I've been to and the value you get for the dollar is hard to beat.

Egypt: What can I say - I LOVE Egyptian history and to ride a camel through the desert approaching the Great Pyramids and visiting the Cairo Museum and Valley of the Kings in Luxor - the highlight trip of my life.

What beautiful photos. Thank You!!! I have only been to Hong Kong and even though it's governed by China I felt I was in a cosmopolitan bright light city much like New York. Shanghai has really come along in the last 10 years which is my next city of choice to visit in the Far East.
