I could name a few more but, I will leave it for another day. Yeah, there are places with per capitas over $30,000 USD and HDI of .85 or even up to .96
Eventually Mexico will become richer and they will soon realise that the constant deportations are not worth it. They seem to congregate in slums and lower the local quality of life so they aren't really living the "american dream".
Silly sounding question I know but the fame and celebrities thread, along with a remark one of my Mexican friends said to me got me thinking. Is Mexico the place to be to become famous in the Spanish speaking world? My friend told me that it is but I don't know if this is just pride or fact. As the US is the most populous English speaking country, Mexico is for Spanish.
Despite Spain's current economic issues, I'd say it's closer to the U.S. Of the Spanish speaking world. Although, in terms of the arts (music, TV, actors) Mexico probably closer to the U.S. In that regard.

Like i said there is no equivalent hispanosphere country that has the same massive influence like the U.S has in the anglosphere.
Mexico and Spain are probably the U.Ks of hispanosphere
Colombia and Argentina are probably the Canada and Australia of the hispanosphere
Uruguay is the New Zealand of the hispanosphere
I dont know who would be ireland
Influence is more widely distributed between the hispanosphere country.
I would argue that Latin Americans know more about Mexico, whether good or bad, than Spain. Just like pretty much everyone knows more about Brazil than Portugal.
Mexico? Really? I've been to Latin America, in Chile now and know MANY Latin Americans.. none of them give a crap about Mexico.
Alot of Americans don't give a crap about the U.K yet it is arguably the second most influential anglosphere nation. Like i said Mexico is not the U.S of hispanosphere. More like the U.K along with Spain. I said the average Latin American probably knows more about Mexico than they did about Spain. I never said Mexico was the rockstar of the Hispanosphere. Plenty of Mexicans assimilate well into American culture and are living the "American dream"
