1. What is your nationality? Italian
2. What is your ethnicity/heritage? Italian
3. Which countries have made you feel welcome and treated you well? England, France, Greece, Austria, Spain
4. Which countries have treated you poorly? France and England.

Beware, the poorly part refers to some episodes, overall I found great people, especially in England.
In England, I risked being assaulted at night during "drunk Friday" and met some crazy people (a woman yelling at me for no reason, a butcher's wife who threatened me, some 12 years old boys drinking and smoking and very similar to some sort of mob gang, prostitutes and people completely high, some crazy people on the beach) and I found some extremely snotty Parisians (and be careful I am quite fluent in French).

I have French friends who are very nice. But I did have a couple of negative experiences in Paris. I have been told by my French friends that Parisians do tend to be more rude towards outsiders. My experience kinda confirmed that, but it is a lovely city. Switzerland was incredible and the people were great.

1. What is your nationality? American
2. What is your ethnicity/heritage? Black/Hispanic
3. Which countries have made you feel welcome and treated you well? Spain, Switzerland, Brasil, Malta, Greek Islands
4. Which countries have treated you poorly- Athens-Greece, Rome-Italy, Paris-France

From my understanding Rome and Paris being tourist hubs breeds hate for tourists. lol
As for Athens, it is becoming dangerous for tourists, specially if you don't look European. There are also rumors of detention camps for "undesirables". My Cuban, Spaniard friends and I were stopped by 7 police officers and questioned in the middle of the city about our reasons for being there. They also asked us why we were together. My guess is that three people of obviously different ethnic backgrounds hanging out together is definitely a sign of impending shenanigans. I found that odd, and just gave them a "duh, we are friends" answer. They let us go after digging through our passports since they didn't find anything. As for the Greek Island, they were pretty incredible… I can't wait to go back!

just because a country isn't worshiping you for being a black American does NOT mean they have concentration camps for "greedy jews" and backward mentality.

Get real.

1. What is your nationality?
Taiwanese.

2. What is your ethnicity/heritage?
Asian/East Asian/Han Chinese, pick one.

3. Which countries have made you feel welcome and treated you well?
Japan and France.

4. Which countries have treated you poorly?
None of them, South Korea wasn't exactly warm and fuzzy but it wasn't too bad either.

Japanese people have always been very friendly and polite, and they generally like Taiwanese a lot, so naturally I felt welcome.

I don't know why people often have negative opinion over French people. I am an Asian that speaks very limited French but the French people I met in France were all very friendly and wiling to help me with just about everything. Out of Europe, I have been to Spain, Germany, and France, and I definitely felt the most welcome in France. Not that I think Spaniards and Germans were rude or anything.

I am curious about Switzerland being more negative toward travelers. Is there any difference between the different regions of Switzerland, that is: are the French, German and Italian Swiss pretty much the same in their attitudes toward outsiders?
