Though I had fun in Spain, some of the guys on my ship did not. Their family is from Mexico and the Spanish people, they discovered, look down upon Mexicans and South Americans like dirt or former slaves.

I could pass for a South American guy and most Spaniards I met seemed to like me.

Caucasian

The UK, Switzerland, Iceland, Luxembourg, Italy, Monaco, Spain, Morocco, Austria,
4. Which countries have treated you poorly?

Have you ever thought about how touristy some parts of France are ?

Or how some folks over there may resent how some foreigners behave like they are in a big Disneyland while over there?

Did you expect the blonde girls to fall over you just because you mumbled ''sil vous plait'' with an accent ?

Get over yourself

I am American and caucasian.I was treated warmly in Belgium. The best by a long shot.I was there in 1986 and there wasn't any hatred or animosity towards Americans then, like I'm told there is now.In fact, there was much interest in American life.
Paris was rough, but I was treated well in the rest of France. One can't judge the French on Paris alone.Probably the same thing as a foreigner not liking NYC, but feeling welcome in Kansas or South Dakota.I heard this from a British citizen, and it makes sense.
I don't feel as I was treated badly or unwelcome anywhere I've gone. When I do encounter foreigners here in the US,I try to be friendly and courteous, because I feel the everyday Joe can be the best ambassador for his country.

Not just Paris, it is just that the French IMO are pretty hateful towards anyone that is Arabic or Asian and I speak from lots of experience here. Whether it is Northern France or Southern France, the French in general are very xenophobic and racist people.

A survey or racism study I believe found France to be the most racist country in Western Europe.
