Yep, and by quite a significant margin. Cannabis use in the US is more than twice as high as here in The Netherlands (51.6% vs. 22.6%) yet we're the ones that get stuck with the stereotype :/

Yes, my whole study is in English so there's no point in reading Dutch academic books (I attend an international University). Even in my field (European Studies), much of the literature we read is American and many of the top scholars on European integration (e.g. Moravcsik) are from the US.

Thats so true! I was gonna say "I thought it would be The Netherlands", but was afraid of perpetuating some streoetype

Cannabis usage has some strange things about it. It's not yet legal in California where I am from but it's very widely used to the point that many police departments make it the lowest priority. In Washington state where I live now it is legal yet, I've not seen anyone using it nor smelled it like I used to.
