By car. 50 kilometers, 45 - 60 min. Public transport is no option. The bus stops only every two hours overhere, and the nearest train station is 20 km away,
I live 60Km far from my university. I usually have to reach the nearest train station by car (5 minutes). Then I take the train, the travel takes more or less one hour. It is really boring, but at least trains are quite frequent (2 trains every hour). Then I have still to take a bus or a tram to reach my Uni from the Turin main train station ( 10 minutes).
I really pass a lot of time on trains. I'm on a train also now.
When I was working I walked there. Was only a 10-15 minute walk, although the answer would be the same even if it was further away as I walk everywhere.
I bicycle every work day to and from work. The most direct round trip route is about 13.3 miles / 21 km, and it takes me a total of just under one hour round trip or under 30 minutes each way. Sometimes I take a longer route just for a little extra workout. So far this year I've pedaled 216 work day commutes, and every one of them has been great.

Reason: typo
No, It ptactically impossible to find a dorm in Italy. So for having a nearer collocation I should rent an apartment (or a room in an apartment shared with other students) and it would be much more expensive than the train.
