This exactly! For some reason 'some' people on here seem to think that Europeans are all some kind of 'pure breeds', that if youre Swiss all of your forebears have been Swiss since the time of the dinosaurs! There are threads on here like 'what do Italians look like' or 'the British are the palest people in the world' as if they are all identical and interbred. I don't believe that some people realise that Europe is as genetically mixed as anywhere, all I know is that when I walk around my local Tesco's there is an awful lot of diversity going on.
is this true of everywhere in the UK?
for example, i totally understand that if you're living in an urban area of europe, you're surrounded by a 'melting pot' of ethnicities.
but the way i understood it, if you go to somewhere rural -- say, a village in north England -- you're far more likely to see "ethnic white Britons."
I hate all Finnish-Americans, Finnish-Canadians and Finnish-Australians! The worst are the Finnish-Spaniards and Finnish-Swedish. Burn them at the stake!
I can't take this thread seriously, it's so absurd.
I can assure you that this thought never crosses my mind, or has any bearing whatsoever on the quality of my life. Nor does it change my vacation plans.
Frankly, I couldn't care less what some stranger in a foreign country thinks of my cultural or ethnic heritage.
it seems like countries with higher mixing also have the highest crime?
for example a country like Japan that is mostly a homogeneous society
some of the advantages are that there is more unity in national affairs and that there is no racial discrimination. basically, a homogeneous society can have more unity and understanding as well as less violence directed at a particular race or religion.
do people in the americas, australia, and other genetically mixed countries resent being looked down because of their genes by the old world purebreds?
what italians thinks of italian-americans or what japanese think of mixed half breed japanese, etc is the same around the world.
if one is not 100% purebred whether french brit korean chinese etc they are looked down on and are ostracized in their countries.
guess they are stuck with others like them.
Whoever told you that there's such a thing as "old world purebred" doesn't know much about anthropology and human migration. We probably all came from Ethiopia, and we've been doing a lot of walking around and ****ing since then.

I know what you are saying - and rural areas are certainly more 'white' than urban areas but as other99 says 'People have been relocating and immigrating to different European countries for thousands of years.' Even rural Britons in northern vilages have ancestoral genes that are Anglo Saxon (German), Viking (Scandinavian), Roman (Italian), Iberian (Portugese / Spanish) and or Norman (French), I think what an 'ethnic white Briton' is will depend on how far back you want to go with ancestory.
