Define tropical, please. I'm from the deep tropics myself, and I probably have a different image in my head than your mid-latitude mind does . Oh, and, being I'm from Puerto Rico, Florida definitely does not have a more diverse landscape than Florida. Puerto Rico has tropical savannahs, rainforest, borderline desert, flat coastal plains, and a very rugged (kinda like Japan's) mountainous center. Florida has none of those.

Japan for rugged beauty. Namibia for serene beauty

The US is pretty unremarkable for the most part, considering how big it is. You guys really need to travel, to open your eyes and get out of that bubble.

I agree, along with China and India it's probably one of the most diverse in landscape. I don't think of that as being 'most beautiful', though, although the US certainly has areas that are as beautiful as anywhere. It's subjective. Some find deserts ugly, some find them beautiful. I can think of little you can find in the US you can't find elsewhere in the world though. You want mountains? Try the Himalayas, Andes.etc. Deserts, ditto.

I do love NY State though! I love nearly every State! But, if I broke Canada up into 50 little itty bitty provinces, I could have a whole big ol' list of all this awesomeness too.

And for giggles you'd have to include the fact there's still some places within Canada's borders and in some other countries no one has even seen yet. So that most beautiful place might still be waiting to be discovered.

It's still a remarkable place. I find Australia more dull considering it's almost as big as the US.

Yes the oh so great history of Europe and Asia full of war and genocide.
Thank god America saved and help rebuild Europe.

For mountains I personally think the Andes, Himalayas, Hindu Kush, and Denali range are the most spectacular.

The southern tip of Florida is actually climatically tropical, although it's not like you'll find tropical rainforest there, it still can get too cold. Even Miami's had snow before.
