I cannot understand the bolded category. How does Asia beat NA in that category?

Why wouldn't it? Why are you having trouble understanding it? Were you not aware that Asia has polar and sub-polar regions?

I think polar and subpolar regions are more beautiful in northern, and especially in northeastern Asia as with Siberia and Russia featuring a great diversity of landscapes with tundra, grasslands, glaciers...

However, I agree that comparison between both these landmasses is still hard in that category but there isn't any major differences in beauty as Greenland and Canada are full of naturally charming places.

Europe...because it's extremely compact. Else if we want to be fair in front of Americas, Africa or Oceania, we should consider Eurasia. Eurasia > all

Because in terms of scenery Alaska, Canada and Greenland blow it out of the water in pretty much every way. NA has nearly everything that Asia has in this category but also has bigger mountains, huge glaciers, much bigger icefields and many more fjords.

I guess I am asking for justification of why Asia should be ranked higher than NA in this category.

Iaskwhy....I agree with you ...word for word.

I am shocked, if there is one geographical category NA wins, it is best Polar/sub polar.

Asia is definitely in 2nd place but is well behind NA.

They don't have a mountain the scale like massive Mount McKinley (Denali) in Alaska.
They don't have Ice Caps of the scale of Baffin Island....never mind Greenland,
not to mention the mighty and awesome St. Elias Mountains (largest sub polar mtn glaciers in the world)
Fjords....NA all the way.... Baffin Island and Greenland....
Siberia pretty much has none.

I don't agree with you, dude ! Africa and Asia (including the Middle East) have undoubtedly the best and the most beautiful deserts in the world, and I'd pick South America in third position.

Africa owns by far the largest and the most extreme hyper-arid area on Earth as with annual mean potential evaporation exceeding by up to 200 times annual mean rainfall, forming true moonscapes as in the northern, southern and eastern parts of the continent. Asia comes in second position and such an aridity is responsible of otherworldly landscapes.

For instance, the Afar Depression in East Africa shows extraordinary lunar scenes as a land where volcanic/hydrothermal activity joins with a harsh, desert environment, which makes the land even more parched by increasing its barrenness.

I could post some pictures of how barren these lands are but maybe on another reply or if someone ask me to do it.

Sorry but its common knowledge that the Atacama in South America is the most arid place on Earth.
