It's interesting, I had never heard of the French name Maélie (or Maëlys) before but apparently it's very popular. It sounds like Miley when I try to pronounce it, surely that can't be the intention?
I love French names. Pretty much all my favourite names are French, it's a good thing they generally match well with Dutch last names (unlike English names, which tend to sound tacky in Dutch).
How about the name Toine, is it still commonly used in francophone countries? This is my brother's name, only Dutchified into Twan
huahahahaha once I heard Jefferson or something like that
Isn't there a football player called Jefferson? Jefferson Farfan or something like that. I think he's from South America, not sure if he's from Brazil or a Spanish-speaking country. I heard that it's very common in Brazil to give children English last names like Jefferson, Washington, Emerson, etc.
