At the moment, there seems to be a slight 'anti-American' and 'anti-Obama' sentiment in Europe because of the NSA surveillance scandal and the recent issues about the possible intervention in Syria. Although many people here still like the U.S. on a cultural basis, the States have lost much of their credibility in recent years. It all started under G.W. Bush and now continues with the failures of the Obama administration.
48 years long enough? I too believed the propaganda about it being the greatest country in the world, until I saw it from a different view. The negatives are getting worse all the time.

I lived there for the first 48 years of my life and moved abroad 13 years ago.
Oh he was drunk, yeah I read sometime ago that a Australian man was drunk at a LA club and he was being racist to a black male there, apparently the aussie guy was injured badly and I believe he went to the hospital.
