The trees you mentioned in your original post are common all over the world and are not restricted to those countries. What's your point?
I think what he meant is that some countries are symbolically associated with some trees ( as some countries are symbolically associated with some animals for example.)
They've definitely left Japan out ( and sakura) in this case though)))))

yes, I mentioned it Most people know it as Cherry Blossom, Sakura (桜本) is the Japanese name, obviously
Growing up in Southern California, I thought eucalyptus was a tree native to there. Another example of an exotic plant brought to an area that flourishes beyond all expectations.
There even more common in Northern California where bluegum form naturalized forests.
