Here in the United States, we tend to think that the rest of the world generally does not like us too much. We always hear how the United States is the "Big Bully of the world". But through the internet, i have found out that there are certain "bullies" in different regions of the world. For example Russia seems to be the domineering power in East Europe and northern central Asia. It seems in East Asia the country of Japan is disliked by many people in neighboring countries, and Saudi Arabia is the "rich kids of the block" who mistread immigrants coming to work. Why is this?

So, who is the big bully in your region and why?

Western Europe:

Eastern Europe:

Sub-Sahara Africa:

North Africa:

Middle East:

Central Asia:

Southeast Asia:

East Asia:

Latin America:

Oceania:

Oceania - I don't really think there is one. Australia is certainly the main player, but I don't think it really forces issues. Some of the smaller Pacific nations may have a different view though.

Nothing quite compares to Britain's behaviour during the Opium war, or in India, or the Spanish in the New World.

I don't think there is a bully in (Western/Central) Europe right now. The only nation constantly violating our airspace are the Americans flying from Ramstein or Spangdahlem to somewhere in Italy...

Russia is probably doing the same with some countries in Eastern Europe...

The bully of the EU is not (or not entirely) Germany, it's also France, which is also the bully of its former colonies in West and Central Africa (due to the weakness of the local states and societies there).
Geeez I'm sure that all the enamored France lovers on this forum will come out of the woods now, in defence of a country they idealize so much that it confines to the grotesque!

South America: Argentina is both the bully and the most bullied.

You see i did not know that.

What about other former colonizers, such as Portugal with Portuguese Africa or England? By the way does England have any influence on India anymore?

Germany is the bully, and Finland/Austria/Netherlands/Luxembourg are his nerdy smaller friends looking for protection from the big guy. When Germany approaches Greece regarding money matters, those four countries will stand behind it snickering and laughing as big Germany beats the crap out of Greece.
