I suppose it has something to do with their 'moral character'?
JFK was famous for his many affairs, how well known were they at the same? Maybe not very?
I don't think it would that big of a deal here...we'd rather someone competent whether they are a cheater of faithful...and anyway, we feel politicians do enough cheating and are unfaithful enough so it doesn't bother/is kind of par for course hah jk.
Well, Brazil's president is a woman, and she is single (actually divorced).
So, she can date whoever she wants.
If she had an affair, people would be very curious about it. But we don't hear much about her love life. She does the "bad ass sheriff" style, so we guess she intimidates most men. Also, she is 66 years old...
The media circus covered Clinton's various sexual affairs ad nauseam. For most of 1998, every news program had something featuring Clinton/Lewinsky in it. I bet it's the way a lot my age cohort learned about various sexual practices. Those who were already opposed to Clinton were enraged even more.
I cannot imagine Obama having an affair, as much anger as I have towards him.
Bill Clinton's popularity went up after his affair became public in the USA. I doubt a Republican President would get off that easy as Republicans wouldn't go as easy on their President doing that and the media is one-sided Democrat and would twist it to the Dems advantage.
If it's the president,it's not a private affair anymore,we know according to french laws, adultery is legal in France but not everywhere around the world.
It is a serious problem in countries where religion has its importance (Italy,Vatican, poland, ireland),Berlusconi was another ugly prototype

It's not serious at all in Italy.
They waited he had sex with a teenager to really react.
But I would love to see the pope having an affair..
And, Hollande case is not about adultery because he is not married. He is not with Trierweiler anymore btw.
I'm still laughing. I've never seen so many photo's of Harpo drinking.
As for him having an affair, I think most would be really surprised.
I guess it depends on who is PM. IF Justin becomes our next PM, and it was reported he had an affair, people again would be surprised and probably saddened. However I feel the overall feeling would be that it is his private life.
I wonder though if trust would be lost. I mean you lie to your wife, you can lie to anybody.

I'd be saddened if Justin did that. I don't know if I'll vote for him or not, but he and Sophie are really cute together.

Having sex outside mariage is also prohibited in christianity.
