Not really. All we can really compare across national borders is the homicide rate, and the homicide rate of England and Wales is extremely low by global standards. Reporting and classification standards on crimes like assault varies dramatically even between police stations within the same cities, let alone trying to compare rates internationally.

Scotland and Northern Ireland must be pretty violent then because the UN says Britain's homicide rate is roughly 92% that of the US and is above the rate for Latvia or Turkey.
That gives it a homicide rate the same as Kentucky had in 2007 or a bit above Ohio's of that year if you dislike comparisons to Kentucky. As the US average is higher than Britain's almost half of our states in 2007 had higher homicide rates than what the UN list for Britain. Those higher states are: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
The USA has the most people in jail so they must have the most violent society in the world.
america has a population of 310,871,790, and people do get sent to prison for fraud, vehicle crime, theft, not paying fines, not only violent crimes, the evidence is their britain is a more violent country than the usa, its FACT
usa 466 violent crimes per 100,000, uk 2,034 violent crimes per 100,000, thats more violent no matter what spin you put on it! so your 3 1/2 more times likely to be a victim of violent crime in britain than the usa FACT
