It seems that a lot of Russian cities are very dangerous, and I've seen crime stats at various points in time that show surprisingly high crime rates for the Baltic capitals (Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius) and many other parts of the ex-USSR.

I've heard that Johannesburg has become much safer in recent years, although I think it's still pretty high up there so far as crime rates go. Same for Bogota.

Apologies of course you are right , I had read developing instead of developed.. Though I would not put Dublin or Paris in most violent categories.
