Well as long as they brought some stuff with them. I know one of the biggest lack of vegetation on Antarctica is lack of soil. I believe that if soil was brought over, the native grasses would fare much better, and possibly some of the Arctic plants too. Then they could bring some mammals along for fur production, but they would only survive in western Antarctica/ peninsula. But if they fail at terraforming Antarctica then they would not survive for long. They would become malnourished and their clothes would fall apart. I don't think seal skin is all that warm, and I wouldn't be surprised if penguins became extinct after a while.

What does colonization mean? Literally take control of Antarctica? No, they don't have the facilities on them and wouldn't be able to in such barren climates. Inhabit Antarctica? Yes.

No. The south is really much colder than north. For you have a idea in the Antarctica Russian base close the coast was registered – 89!! The unique place is not worse is the peninsula close south America (in the summer) but how our colleague spoke the weather is between 3 and -5 in the hottest summer days!!

The Ecuador line is not really in the center of the world it is quite to the north because that the Antarctic polar circle is colder than the Arctic.

BECAUSE THAT the people in this hemisphere imagine you north European, Russian and Canadian have snow and ice all the year the people here in general imagine north sub polar lands is equal the south. For example São Paulo is in the Capricornia line has very influence of polar mass air even summer. In the winters we have warm weather average 15 and 20 degrees but when air polar mass get arrive here we feel around 0 degrees just with their ‘’air’’.

Yes, but not every corner of it, like Vostok Station. Maybe the more habitual coastal areas and slightly inland. But not the harsh center of Antarctica.
