These comparisons always make me laugh. What part of California? Certain not the Sierras which are better compared to Switzerland.
As far as Washington goes, this would only be true of Western Washington. The eastern part of that state is basically desert and semi desert. To the best of my knowledge, Norway doesn't have any of that.

Spains northwest coast has a lot similarities (Climate,Geography) to the northwestern coast of California, aswell
