Hello Mch, just to clarify Colombia does have a cold semi-arid region in the northern Andean Altiplano or Cundi-Boyacense plateau.
It's called La Candelaria desert.

Pablo hola.

You are right, but for the sake of the conversation I was only considering deserts, to show what countries do have both extremes of precipitation. I don't know if the area surrounding villa de leyva in Boyaca can also be classified as cold semi arid.

There is one thing i forgot to add in the topographic diversity of Colombia; part of the amazon region of our country is located in the guiana shield, and the landscape is very different from the rest of the amazon, with its tabletop mountains, althought not as high and wide as those found in Venezuela and brasil

Pablo, the videos you posted of that semiarid region are great, now that I think of it, videos are better than photos to show a particular región.
I want you to show you these videos of the municipality (county) of Santa Marta "only the coastal area, for i could not find good videos of the mountain area, especially the glaciers" and also the rest of the state "Magdalena"

So, based on the parameters "precipitation range, topographic diversity, lenght of the country, coastal features" I wrote before, I am going t try to make a list of the most diverse countries

regarding coastal features, a country does not have to have more than one coastline in different oceans to be diverse if its lenght give it a whole variety of coastal features. china, japan are good examples of that. there are also countries "especially some of those with coast in the indian and the pacific and the central american countries" that althought have coast in two oceans, the features don't change or are very similar.

Now the list "in no particular order"

1. Russia: An extremely long country with high mountains and very vast lowlands, having areas ranging from cold desert to rainy forests.
One of the few countries in the world with coast on three different oceans. “it lacks high coastal mountains and coastal deserts’
Along with Canada its the only country on this list that has a polar biome

2. Australia: An extremely long country with very vast lowlands, having areas ranging from cold and hot deserts to rainy forests. A very diverse coastline "perhaps the second in the world after the US". The country lacks high mountains.

3 China: An extremely long country with very high mountains "the tallest of the world" and very vast lowlands, having areas ranging from cold desert to rainy forests. it only has one coastline but due to its lenght its very diverse "lacks high coastal mountains and coastal deserts"

4. India: An extremely long country with very high mountains "one of the few countries with mountains above 8000 mts" and very vast lowlands, having areas ranging from cold and hot desert to rainy forests. its deserts are not among the driest in the world, but on the other extreme it has the world wettest spot; its the country with the highest range of precipitation.
it only has one coastline "lacks high coastal mountains but has coastal deserts"

5. United States: An extremely long country "the longest in the world taking into consideration all its territories" with high mountains and very vast lowlands "althought not on the same territory as all the mountains above 5000 mts are located in Alaska", having areas ranging from cold and hot desert to rainy forests.

its deserts are not among the driest in the world, but on the other extreme it has one of the world wettest spots; its one of the countries with the highest range of precipitation after India and Colombia, althought its driest spot "death valley" and its wettest spot "big bog in the island of maui" are not on the same landmass.

One of the few countries in the world with coast on three different oceans."Has high coastal mountains but lacks coastal deserts" its perhaps the country with the more diverse coastline

6. Colombia: A long country with high mountains and vast lowlands “mostly jungle and Savannah”, having areas ranging from hot desert to rainy forests.

its deserts are not among the driest in the world, but on the other extreme it has the world second wettest spot; its the country with the highest range of precipitation after India.

Coast on two oceans "has a coastal desert and the world’s highest coastal mountain range" lacks everything beyond tropical biomes “except a few subtropical áreas”, but its the only country in the world that has all the tropical biomes at sea level

7. Peru: A long country with very high mountains “has territory on the northern tropical andes and the dry central andes” and vast lowlands “mostly jungle”, having areas ranging from hot and cold deserts to rainy forests.

its deserts are the second driest in the world, and on the other extreme it has the fourth wettest spot of the countries on this list

Coast on one ocean, mostly a coastal desert

8. Mexico: A long country with high mountains. After Chile, its the country of this list with less área of lowlands. It has areas ranging from hot and cold desert to rainy forests.

Coast on two oceans "has a coastal desert, but lacks high coastal moutains" it has a very diverse coastline.

9. Chile. An extremely long country with very high mountains. its the country of this list with less área of lowlands. It has areas ranging from hot and cold desert to rainy forests. Its deserts are the second driest in the world

Coast on two oceans "has a coastal desert, and high coastal moutains" it has a very diverse coastline.

10 Artgentina: An extremely long country with very high mountains "the highest in the world outside Asia" and very vast lowlands, having areas ranging from cold and hot desert to rainy forests. Its deserts are very dry “not as dry as those found in Peru and Chile”
it has coast on two oceans "lacks high coastal mountains but has coastal deserts" it has a very diverse coastline

11 Canada: An extremely long country with high mountains and very vast lowlands, having areas ranging from cold desert to rainy forests. One of the few countries in the world with coast on three different oceans.
Along with Russia its the only country on this list that has a polar biome

What about Alaska? Does that fall under a polar biome?

A polar biome its the equivalent of having glaciers at sea level "EF climate on the koppen system" At sea level, outside antartica, it only can be found "that I know of" in greenland and the extreme north of Russia and Canada
