Nice to see Istanbul getting some of the attention it deserves.

Nice to see Hanoi up there. I was in Hanoi in 1996, and I thought then it was one of the most beautiful cities in the world. But as Mark Twain said, when most people agree with me, it is time to rethink my position.

I can see why Branson is above Phoenix, but I can't imagine why either is the top million. It is telling, that the whole North American continent has only two destinations, ranking 12th and 18th, in the world's Top 24. The whole western hemisphere has only 3.

My wife is in Istanbul at this very moment (but with jetlag), it will be interesting to hear what she has to say about it.

Hanoi is beautiful, but you've gotta visit the entire country to get the full experience, especially Ha Long Bay(recently named one of the world's ancient wonders) and Nha Trang(home to some of the world's most beautiful beaches. I would even say most beautiful, but you know, gotta stay humble )

You can check out some samples here:

I think TripAdvisor... is a sight to first, Aid tourist in making a itinerary for their vacation? It doesn't beg for feedback or require it. But, I believe if a traveler WAS IMPRESSED BY A VISIT TO SOME CITY OR LOCATION. They will be MUCH MORE LIKELY TO COME BACK TO LEAVE FEEDBACK? THEREFORE, cities that have Prominence and rise on recommendation? One could say, IMPRESSESED A TRAVELER OR SURPASED EXPECTATIONS MORE? To have then DISIRE TO LEAVE FAVORABLE FEEDBACK FOR OTHERS. So to some SURPRISED CITIES HIGH IN THIS RECOMENDATION. JUST MAY HAVE IMPRESSED travelers more? Having been to CHICAGO <many times. I did have expectations surpassed? Like how clean it was and green and landscaped and great new and old architecture. So I can see why it received GOOD feedback leading to this high RECOMENDATION? Maybe cities that DROPPED NEED TO TAKE NOTE, AS TO WHY?
