Istanbul lies on both sides of the Bosphorus and therefore is both European and Asian.
But the European part is much more important since the whole historical city is in Europe.
The expansion beyond the Bosphorus in Anatolia was a relatively recent development, although nowadays one third of the population lives there.

Bottom line: including Istanbul in a list of Asian cities is exceedingly daft.

Yeah I included Istanbul because I already had 5 in Europe, and well it's in both, so it could be included in either...

For Europe I'd choose Vienna. It just sounds so arty and is so culturally rich.Copenhagen would be nice as well.

For Asia I'd choose Taipei, lol.Kyoto'd be nice as well.

For Australia,I don't think there are that much difference between the five, maybe Melbourne,as one of my friends live there and is currently studying in University of Melbourne.

For North America,I'd choose Vancouver or DC.Preferably DC because there are so many HKers,Chinese, and Taiwanese living in Vancouver,I don't want to feel like I'm still in Taipei when I'm actually in Canada.

For South America,I'd choose Montevideo. It seems like the safest place among the five.

Updated this, they will be in order.

New York, Miami, Seoul, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Barcelona, Osaka, London, Berlin, Toronto, Singapore, Chicago, Nagoya, Madrid, Washington DC, Tel-Aviv, Melbourne, Frankfurt, Vancouver, Zurich, Valencia, Hamburg, San Diego, Tucson, Honolulu, Busan, Randstad, Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, San Francisco Bay Area, Denver, Haifa, Bangalore, Taipei, Munich, Rhine-Ruhr, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Oslo, Geneva, Stockholm, Austin, Las Vegas, Seattle, Brisbane-Gold Coast, Pune, Manchester, Liverpool, New Orleans, and Sydney.

Genuinely like all. No reservations living in any, even with the language barriers and employment opportunities.

I'm just a Asia-Pacific-Oceania and North America type of person with a fondness for Germany, United Kingdom, Spain, Switzerland, and Israel outside of North America and Asia-Pacific (from India to the Pacific Rim).

I would also like to note my honorable mentions of Nice and Penang in addition to the fifty cities I mentioned before. Those would all be places I would be willing to consider at any time of my life, given equal opportunities.
