I used to think Los Angeles was pretty dark at night, some years ago.

If it weren't for lit windows, sometimes all you'd see are red lights
floating in the sky.
That was in the 80's.

Also, which major city in the U.S.
or in the World is the most brightly-lit ?

I'm thinking Tokyo Japan. But didn't do any research on this.

Pyongyang, North Korea, is probably the largest "darkest" city in the world.

Maybe I'm imagining things but I've always felt Denver's skyline was great during the day, but rather dark at night. It lacks any signature buildings with standout lighting patterns at night. So it just has window lights, and I guess there are less night shifters than other places.

Really? I didn't know that. And don't really care.

As long as I mentioned the U.S. on here, I think this question is in the
correct spot.

I don't think New York is that 'lit'.

Unless you're going strictly by images of Times Square. . .

I prefer cities with street and road lights.

We flew over New York at low height on the way back home. It was certainly NOT dark.

Many roads in Los Angeles do not have street/road lights. I do not like that.

Yeah, I lived in Denver and it's pretty dark. Maybe I can find a pic of the street I lived on,
which shows Denver in the background.

Let me see.... found it ! (took me 2 hours ! )
