Good one -- I forgot about Gambia.

St. Stephen, New Brunswick, to Sherbrooke, Quebec is twice as far through Canada (857 km) as through the USA (416 km).

The area in Central Asia where Uzbeki-, Kyrgyz-, and Tajikistan meet is a promising one for international shortcuts -- or at least it would be, if there were enough roads. I tried to find an all-Kyrgyz route between 2 points in Kyrgyzstan that are separated by Uzbekistan, but couldn't.

The trip from Lutepää to Sesniki, Estonia, is 2.3 km if you cut through Russia, 11.4 km otherwise.

It's actually legal to take this road through a tiny bit of Russia, as long as you don't stop your car or walk.

Yes, I see a lot of Michigan and NY plates on HWY 401 in Ontario between Buffalo and Detroit.

I believe that there is such a place in Switzerland where one drives through Germany for 10 minutes somewhere near the Rhine Falls.
