Of course results will vary on the country (size, accessibility), the individual.etc, but still interesting to see how well-travelled in your own 'backyard' you are.

As you know, Australia is about the size of the lower 48 states and twice the size of Western Europe. I live in Perth, a city 2,500 km from the nearest big city: imagine if San Diego was the ONLY city of size west of the Mississippi and you have Perth.

Anyway, I've still been to every state and territory (6 states, 2 territories), every major capital city including our national capital Canberra, except Darwin, every other major city, and have been around Australia by road (a journey of about 12,000 km), and of course criss-crossed it many times by plane. I've seen quite a lot of my own state, WA, the Southwest, Goldfields, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Kimberley...WA is about 5 times the size of France with 2 million people. I've seen much of regional Vic, the coastal parts of NSW, QLD, parts of Tassie, outback QLD, SA, and WA. Still, I feel I've barely scratched the surface of this vast land.

I have been to all territories and archipielagos except Navarra, La Rioja, Ceuta and Melilla. Despite of that there are well known cities and areas that I don't know yet, such as too many islands.

Norway. Most of it. From Lindesnes (southern tip) to Nordkapp (northern tip), including all 19 counties.

I've been to 47 US states and lived in 8 of them, plus one District (not including college). I've driven coast-to-coast 3 times. I've also taken the train from LA to Michigan and back.

Of the "top 100" US cities listed here:

Top 100 Largest US Cities - How many have you traveled to?

I've been to 57. However, that list only uses actual city populations (as opposed to metro areas), so it includes lots of obscure suburbs of cities I have been to.

I am from Norway. I have not seen too much to be honest. If you exclude competitions, cities I have just driven through, and when I was really young, then I have only visited Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim, Arendal, Songdal and the mountains.

Because when I have vacation, then going to some places in Norway do not appeal to me.

What about the Svalbard? Have you ever been up there?

I estimate that I have been perhaps to 20 U.S. states but I did spend part of my childhood in overseas locations due to my father's job.

Most counties of England, and a few of Scotland and Wales. Never been to Northern Ireland.
