Neuschwanstein: very unique. No wonder it inspired Walt Disney so much.

Too many good ones to list, but I like this one best. It's what comes to mind when I think of castles from the Middle Ages:

The castles in Loire Valley are also amazing.I was gonna go today but apparently something went wrong and the escorted tour group was already full.I was so disappointed

Indian palaces are jawdropping, from Mysore to the blue city of Jodhpur to the floating palaces of Udaipur. Then there are buildings like Mehrangar Fort, the largest castle (in all but name) in the world:

My favorite is the Alexander Palace in Tsarskoe Selo (Pushkin), just a short walk from, and not as visited as, the Catherine Palace. I love it more for personal reasons as this was the residence of the last Tsar and his family. However, I chose the Winter Palace in the poll. I never cared much for the Catherine Palace. When I did my study abroad in Russia, I only visited because I figured I should. I used to stop inside a lot to use the restrooms when I visited the parks and nearby environs.
