I've enjoyed all the great and interesting pics!
My photo skills are not very good, but here are some pics from where I live. Some of these pics are a few months old, and one is about two years old - but I'm European so "recent" means within the last 100 years.
This is from my work commute, I normally don't take photos while driving but we were stuck for a while.
This is from right behind my house - a 5 minute hike gets you here. It's winter as you can see, this time of year I'm not there as much as the ticks are very aggressive.
In the summertime, it's nicer to be by the ocean. Here's the beach by our summer cabin:
When it's warm (and before the wasps overwhelm us) we like to dine
al fresco:
Salmon is inexpensive here, due to the proliferation of farms. I'm lucky to have kids that like to eat fish!
In summer, the sunsets are pretty spectacular, unfortunately my house is situated so that we only see the sunset reflected in the clouds:
Ok, so this is not strictly every day life - but a visit to the Barony of Rosendal, a museum castle about 2 hours from here isn't an unusual activity during the summer vacation. The location is pretty dramatic, I think - the castle itself is situated right at the foot of the mountain in the photo.
It's raining today, so the light is a little weird. This is my berry garden and greenhouse. I'm trying my hand at raising plants, with a little luck I might have some tomatoes and cucumbers before the frost arrives. The bell peppers won't make it unless I bring them indoors later.
The blackberry bush I yanked out of a ditch last year apparently survived. Yay me!
Here's the road from my house. Great "fun" in wintertime, especially if we have heavy snowfalls.
The apples aren't very plentiful this year, so I'm betting on next year yielding a bumper crop. They're good for applesauce, not so much for eating as they tend to be on the small side.
Pretty soon it will be Fall, and we'll have mornings like this again (ok, technically this photo is from late Winter, but it will look the same
)
I try my best to get my kids into cooking. My oldest daughter got a "play" pasta machine for Christmas last year and we occasionally bring it out. She was very proud of this batch of pasta!
I will confess that a few times during the hot spell we had the last month I was wishing for this:
We'll get it soon enough I'll wager.
The kids are already asking how long it is until Christmas, and I have a gingerbread house kit in the freezer. In November, there are gingerbread house cities built in Bergen as well as out here, kids in kindergarten and primary school build most of them. Here's one from 2013.
I hope you guys find these entertaining!
