Main Street, Ames, Iowa- the town where I live, home of Iowa State University. This is really the only part of town that still has some character and history. The rest of our town is sterile, cookie-cutter homes and development for miles and miles.
I am only here temporarily because I have ties to the university but I could never live in a place like this for the rest of my life. Too boring if you come from a bigger city but people who were born and raised here are perfectly fine with it. I can't wait to get out.
Cheers. It's been extra gorgeous here and we were getting spoiled but it got cloudy and drizzly a few days ago. We've actually had a drought here before - didn't rain for 2 whole weeks!
Just found that picture on my phone. Street on which I lived for two months back in 2013. Central, Hong Kong. Apartment was located quite a bit up the street, though. Oh, how I miss it...

I was looking at uni's in America and alot of them are in these wee small towns with nothing in them. For me at least the definition of small and rural is different to an American.Alot of these Universities are in these towns with nothing in them about 500 miles from any actual city. I'm not a city dweller but that would kill me.
Maine is the worst.
