We used to shoot to 150 or 300 meters, but a 1" group should well be manageable with iron sights at 150. A telescopic sight is nice on the shooting range, but if the target moves, that damn thing is only in the way.
Well, not everybody is a Deadeye Dick, so scopes do help a lot of hunters who prefer to use them - even in the heavy wooded areas of Central Texas where most Whitetail deer are taken at <100 yards/meters. My nephew is also a bow hunter (no scope on that) and does well every season.
A red dot on my AR15 will suit me, as I can't see anything over that distance.

Iron sights used to be the norm when we were younger. 50 years ago my brother (nephew's father) took deer with his Winchester Model 1873 .38-40, no scopes to profane that fine old rifle.

It appears hunting has been dying out in the UK, but on the Continent? Are there still areas of land available for hunters? Lots of gorgeous landscapes have been posted, but I know little about the topic over there.

Hunting is pretty big where I live I think, at least there was a hunting party on Friday run by the paper mill bosses.

Oh, yes, I suppose they are similar, but the one in Moscow is far larger.

My life in Paris.
The winter is approaching, the sky become dark and the days become smaller and smaller.

Beaugrenelle shopping mall, Rue Linois
The most recent shopping mall in Central Paris (it opened last year), there is a big Mark&Spencer where I buy indian foods.

Metro line 1
This is the oldest metro line in Paris and it became driverless three years ago.
Trains can get very close of each other.

Hey, we just had the first snow of the season here in northeast Texas! With this early snow (the earliest I can recall) and such "blizzard conditions," I bet there's not a roll of toilet paper or a battery left in the local stores!
