Honestly I think many countries are very liberal toward certain issues(drugs, sexual orientation, religion, race, beliefs etc). For instance Germany is a pretty liberal country in terms of women rights or LGBT rights, but if you put on a swastika then walk down the streets in one of the German cities, you're in trouble.Japan,on the other hand,is quite conservative when it comes to those stuff, but race and religion are just not issues over there.

Netherlands is probably the most liberal "in general",but Idk about how it actually performs in each of the category.

Well, it's hard to think of a place where people have more freedom than here in Brazil.

Not sure what "liberal" means (it depends much on the context), but Brazil is surely one of the nations of the world were people have more freedom to do whatever they want.

You breathe freedom everywhere in Brazil.

Close to the coast yes, rest of the country not so sure.
Still one of the most liberal countries with a 80+% religious population

Gay marriage is valid in all states of Brazil, even in Mato Grosso, far away from the coast.

Brazilians, even the Catholics who go to the church every Sunday, usually don't care much about what other people do with their lives. I know many Catholics who have gay friends here. Well, actually I also know gays who attend the Catholic church...

On Brazilian TV, particularly in the "telenovelas" (soap operas) gay and lesbian kissing is becoming so common place that people barely notice it anymore.

Don't you think that's strange? After all those things the church had to say about non-heterosexuals for hundreds of years?

Well, it's a matter of personal faith...

Let me paraphrase Pope Francis: If they feel good going to the Catholic church, who am I to judge them?

I know gay people in Brazil who go to the Catholic church, and have statues of "Our Lady", and always make prayers to her.

"Live and let live" is how we treat those matters here in Brazil.

These countries in Europe (NL, Belgium, ...) are maybe socially liberal but they are not racial/immigrant tolerant at all.
