No offense intended, but such a list is the stuff of total fantasy.

I think that what happens in the Islamic world - those nations stretching from Pakistan, through the Mideast, across northern Africa and down into sub-Saharan Africa (and including the Russian Caucasus and western China) will have the greatest influence on what happens amongst the present leading world powers, as well as in the BRICS.

Much of this swathe of the world is engaged in a no-holds barred religious war in which no actions and no destruction are too extreme. Pakistan is a house of cards, and it is armed with atomic weapons, and as its fundamentalists work to destroy Shia Muslims and Sufis in the country, and bring down the government I think it is only a matter of a few years before a Pakistan run by madmen are into the fray with their weapons.

But I doubt that either India or China are going to allow Muslim unrest within their countries to destabilize them. They will use all their military might to annihilate any nation or fundamentalist guerrillas that threaten them.

I have no belief that the oil monarchies of the Middle East will long survive, despite their own ultra-orthodox form of Sunni Islam. And Muslim North Africa is just as likely to fall apart.

The present world powers are totally incapable of fighting a winning war against the religious primitivism of an enemy who has absolutely not the slightest concern for the levels of suffering and degradation that it brings upon various other Muslim peoples, much less non-Muslims. Death and chaos are its goals, and if their wished for Caliphate were headquartered in a goatskin tent among the wreckage of some once-great city, they would be indifferent to that irony. On the other hand, the present world powers cannot stand by and see the resources and commerce of these nations lost to them, nor can they afford to have them fall into the hands of extremist Sunnis, who even at a low level of technology could use them against the rest of the world...never mind a nuclear Pakistan.

The U.S., the E.U. and the U.K. will become even more and more paralyzed as the chaos spreads.

China, and perhaps Russia, will have the might and ruthlessness to literally wipe out this threat with atomic weaponry, biological warfare and mass famine if they think these are necessary.

hmmm don't forget that Indonesia also has 40% of world's potential geothermal energy, it also has so many energy resources with abundant reserves such as coal, bio energy and LNG, so the future is really bright for Indonesia in energy sector...
