There are several old threads on this in the general forums, but I couldn't find one specific to international cities, or discussing the factors in any depth.

Criteria and talking points:

1. Trash on the streets, in piles or discarded by passersby.
2. Organic - feces, urine, vomit and other bodily fluids in the streets.
3. Infestations - rats, mice, pigeons, cockroaches, bed bugs (interior and exterior)
4. Infrastructure factors - crumbling sidewalks, walkways and walls, weed ingrowths, potholes

Global city is defined for the purposes of the poll as alpha+ and above in the 2012 GaWC study, but you can discuss other major international cities.

I know you only listed Alpha+ cities in the poll but Mumbai who just falls outside that category would walk away with this.

From the cities in the poll i think Hong Kong is the dirtiest, with the the warm climate playing a major factor. If it had London's/Paris's weather it would't even be in the top 3 of this poll.

Why would a warm climate affect cleanness?

Bugs and rodents won't die if the weather is always warm instead they will grow a lot faster and can get a lot bigger.

Fair point, but what kinds of infestation would warrant weather affecting cleanness in a major way?
