My dream lifestyle would be to be a high powered business type on weekdays and then on off hours and weekends surf tropical waves. Are there any cities anywhere in the world with both dynamic business sectors and tropical surfing beaches?
My first thought was in Brisbane metropolitan area along the coast.
Not to down play the city i live in (If you mean Brisbane - Australia), the City is not that much of a business centre (Though most major Australian companies and a few international ones have offices in the city), and their are very few beaches in the "Brisbane Metro". Of course the Gold Coast Metro which starts about 50km to the South of Central Brisbane is well known for its beaches.

Just got into surfing and this conversation came up among others. A little bias here, but there is a large amount of business that occurs in LA and surrounding areas, so it depends on what your looking for, but the surfing is relatively good here...Google surf city...also known as Huntington Beach. SF water is colder than Southern California, Which I wouldn't call tropical. Depending on the business, Sau Paulo is a good location.
