Who's talking about annexation, i like to call it fusion.
Just some examples...
Belize + Guatemala + El Salvador + Honduras + Nicaragua
Saint Kitts and Nevis + Antigua and Barbuda
Saint Lucia + Saint Vincent and the Grenadines + Grenada
Iceland + Norway + Denmark + Sweden + Finland
Estonia + Latvia + Lithuania
Netherlands + Belgium + Luxembourg
Switzerland + Liechtenstein
Italy + San Marino
France + Monaco
Spain + Andorra
Greece + Cyprus
Senegal + Gambia
Guinea + Guinea Bissau
Togo + Benin
Ethiopia + Eritrea
Somalia + Djibouti
Gabon + Equatorial Guinea
Tanzania + Rwanda + Burundi
Mozambique + Malawi
Zambia + Zimbabwe
Namibia + Botswana
South Africa + Swaziland + Lesotho
First two in bold is likely infact all the English speaking Caribbean islands in the lesser Antilles could unify in time. Not including Barbados or TnT though.
The Benelux could well unify I can see that.
Regarding the African countries, those countries borders don't work at it is so them unifying is highly unlikely.
Ok, fusion. Better than annexation, since it'd be done by negotiation instead of wars or coercion.
But do you want to be a citizen of "the Benelux"? Or other Dutch people? Other Belgians?Other Luxembourgers? How would they feel about it?
I think what people want matters the most.
Belgium itself is making sounds like it wants to split up so that'd be interesting to see. The idea that there will be fewer countries overall doesn't reflect the reality that exist in the world today. Nationalism is growing, not shrinking. The idea and concept of the 19th century nation state I believe is less appealing to people today.
Slovenia and Crotia...that would be interesting. My Slovenian great uncle married a Croatian woman and parts of the family wouldn't talk to him for a couple decades.
Saudi Arabia + Kuwait + Bahrain + Qatar + United Arab Emirates
Turkmenistan + Uzbekistan + Kyrgyzstan + Tajikistan + Afghanistan
What is the basis for this? Do you even know anything about some of these countries? It is like you are randomly grouping together based only off of geography, or some geo-political designation.
