Yes, I know Europe has differing styles. I haven't had much experience withEuropean beer, but the impression I get is European beer leans towards simpler while good American beer can be more interesting but often goes too much random flavors or more hops = better.
Quite frankly, both Europe and the US have excellent beers. Decent beer may be easier to find in Europe, although that may not be true for certain styles of beers. IPAs and the likes are incredibly rare in Austria, for example.
I really like beer, but in the end it boils down to: "Whatever. I'll drink anything with alcohol in it"

Equivalent to who has ... prettier women, faster food, blonder men, more ..., ...
Europe is a continent and in its countries even local towns (I am not talking about cities) have their brewing culture.
Up until ten years ago it would have been Europe no contest. With America's current incredible boom in microbrews, I'll take the US for its choice and innovation in beer craft. I've visited Prague and Portland with an eye to beer, and while Europe's beers are anchored in fine traditions, the US offers a broader range of brew experiences today and it is only getting better.
More choices in the US? Mhm... Probably not. 2822 breweries in the US vs approx. the same amount in Germany and the UK alone. Not considering 25 other member states of the EU.

I meant in styles. Europe may have more breweries, but I find there's less variation in styles, mostly traditional types like ordinary pilsners, lagers, ales etc. Whereas in the US I can get things like pumpkin ale, scotch ale, chocolate ale etc. The more gimmicky styles that can actually be really good sometimes that most European brewries don't seem to go for.

Calling that beer is blasphemy.
