2010--2011 The fire Marshall Condemned the place.. vandals have started fires and the weird people did weird things.. so it got closed and shut down. You can only get about a 1/2 block from it behind a chain link fence..

Jump into the river and see if you can get up or if the current takes you.

Are castles cool? If you're interested in history, check it out. And the Cathedral. If you like art, the art museum and theatre are quite good, but summer is the low season.

Other cool things are going at 3am on a Sunday morning on the market square and shout "Turku sucks! Helsinki and Tampere rule, wankers!" and see what happens. The other option is going to the eastern suburbs and create a fight in a bar.

Eat well and drink beer. And in summer look at the white night. Live music from country to techno is available almost every day or weekend. Nothing spectacular here really. If you're into nature rent a boat and go fishing, or bike and go for a trip.

The most stupid thing to do here is either going surfing or alpine skiing.

Museumsquartier (MQ) in summer: Popular hangout for the younger crowd. BYOB, some cool clubs/bars/restaurants nearby, just a nice place to be.

MQ in winter: An "alternative" christmas market. Electronic music, booze and food. Nice. You can also play a game of "Eisstockschießen".

Donaukanal: Former arm of the river Danube, now regulated as a water channel. Lots of (beach) bars, some nice restaurants and a boat with a public swimming pool on it (+club/restaurant). Some nice street art.

Naschmarkt in the evening: Less tourists, perfect for dinner.

Dachboden: Nice bar on top of the 25 Hours Hotel. Affordable, nice view.

Swan Lake Iris Garden, it is the only public park in the US with all eight species of swans. Royal White Mutes, Black Neck, Coscorobas, Whopper, Black Australians, Whistlers, Bewicks , and Trumpeters. You can check out the beautiful pictures at google images.
