Cool cities both, but New York City is our nation's primary city for sure. By now, I have vacationed in New York City far more times than I have in Washington DC even though the latter city is right next door.
Sorry You're wrong.

That's because you haven't been anywhere else.

Yes I've been to Ottawa on a number of occasions and am still trying to shake off the overwhelming boredom that the experience somehow managed to induce in me...yawn. Talking about Dullsville. The only good thing about Ottawa is that it's close to Gatineau park and Montreal's only about an hour away.

Yes 2 times, the 1st time when I was well in my adulthood, and it is a fantastic city to visit, arguably one of the most beautiful city in the world.
Roma, Italia has everything from the ancient Roman times to the Paleo-Christian, Medieval and Renaissance periods, to the Baroque time and so on.
It is the very opposite of a Dullsville, and I feel lucky to have such an exciting city as a capital.

I would never live there though: high COL + bad public transport and worse governance are big turn-offs. As usual, like any place great to visit, it is not so great to live there
