Only Singapore made it from Asia? What happened to Tokyo? Hong Kong? and Seoul?
I can see why Tokyo didn't make it to the list, it's a very earthquake and typhoon-prone city, and the commuting hours is probably one of the worst in the world. Nobody from one of those top 30 cities takes a 2 hour subway just to get to work, then takes another two hour train just to get home.
But Japanese cities probably scored well in other measurements, so they made up 4 of the top 5 cities in Asia.
Hong Kong's housing is a ****ing nightmare, that alone is enough to drag it down.
As for Seoul...idk, maybe it just scored mediocrely in each category so it ended up with a mediocre placement?
No Seattle, Boston, Denver, Portland, San Diego, Minneapolis, DC, etc.?

No surprise.
An interesting thing is that rarely a huge city qualify for being in the best cities. Even some global cities like London and New York don't appear in the top 30. Maybe smaller cities are easier to manage.
I would be surprised if NYC and London appear in top 30. They are known for their bad quality of life (unless you are a multi-millionaire of course).
These rankings will always favour mid sized cities. In reality, mid sized cities are indeed more livable than ones with 10 million + people fighting for a subway seat or waiting in long queues for a doctor.
So when are you moving to Lagos Nigeria lol... Having said that, don't take any of the comforts of your western world/first world life with you including money... You need to start out from scratch and build up your life as a local in Nigeria- we'll see how great a place you think it is to live when you are faced with that!
great point.
Just because a place is cheap doesn't make it livable. Don't forget you would have to make local prevailing income.
Only Singapore made it from Asia? What happened to Tokyo? Hong Kong? and Seoul?
Are you seriously? You think quality of life is good in HK, Tokyo or Seoul? Just because those are economically powerful cities doesn't mean they are great place to live.
I mean, have you seen Hong Kong? It might be exciting to visit for 2 days, but to live there is unthinkable ... first of all, do you know a 600sf condo is considered spacious there?
