Taking my What cities are more similar game to the international stage.

One poster says for example: Is Paris more similar to London or Madrid? Then another poster replies London and why they pick London, and then posts "Sydney is more similar to Melbourne or Perth?" and so on.

Here's the first one. Is Rio de Janeiro more similar to Cancun or Ibiza?

That's a tough one because it's not really similar to either geographically. If I had to pick I'd go with Cancun.

Just a quick interjection here, but I find Rome and Istanbul to have a lot in common. Both were capitals of vast empires and serve as holy places for the Catholic and Orthodox faiths respectively. On a cultural level, I can see Madrid being a lot closer though.

Despite the similarities in climate with Miami, I will say DC here. They are both capitals, both have decent metro systems and both pretty clean.

Dublin, more similar architecture and layout (compared to Glasgow with its grid pattern and tenements) and it's estimated that three quarters of Liverpool’s population have Irish roots.
