I know both cities and I can state that both have a similar 'modus vivendi' - at least both have much more in common than any of them with Rio; but they look completely different. Buenos Aires should be considered the 'Paris of the South', both due to its cultural vibe and its beautiful classical architecture everywhere - places such as Palermo and Recoleta could be easily be neighbourhoods of Paris. São Paulo, on the other hand, is more '20th Century', full of towers of concrete, steel and glass; I don't know if it can be easily compared with any other city in the world. One common complaint of both visitors and citizens in São Paulo is the widespread presence of tangled overhead electrical wires, not present in Buenos Aires, which makes the city feel much uglier than it should be.
Mexico City appears to have fewer high rise buildings than Buenos Aires and NYC. This is important for a city to have the look and feel of being large (even if it's only the look and feel).
That is a very Brazilian mentality. Lol
You guys are obsessed with cities having lots of high rise buildings. I wonder where that comes from?
