For those of you who are into fitness, which countries have really good fitness gyms. Gyms that are clean, have lockers, free weights, cardio equipment, swimming pools, etc...

You'd be surprised by the obesity rate if you stepped into a new suburban American gym. Waterslides, rock climbing walls, etc. you name it. I would say it's the relatively great abundance of land in the far suburbs and the cheap labor.

This culture of going to fitness gyms are pretty common in all countries of what we call "Western World"(Europe, Oceania and the Americas) and I believe all of these gyms have the same quality. Considering that, naturally the countries with the biggest populations tend to have more people looking for good gyms and consequently more great gyms. Those affirmations match the results of the polls I have seen, which put:

1. The United States as the country with more and best gyms(US the is the country with the biggest population in Western World)
2. Brazil as second with more and best gyms(Brazil has the 2nd biggest population in Western World)
3. Mexico as third(Mexico has the 3rd biggest population in Western World)

As a Brazilian, I can say that currently every neighborhood(even the poorest ones) has at least two or three gyms with everything you mentioned + agility or dance trainings but usually don't have swimming pools. Swimming pools however aren't rare, if you don't find one in your neighborhood you'll most likely find one in the neighborhood next to yours and will surely find a lot in the central parts of the city.

All big cities in China have such gyms. In fact they tend to be larger than the public gyms in American cities and are more like the rec centers in American universities.
On the other hand, Chinese universities usually do not have such rec centers.
