What is Botswana known for? Besides fast growing economy and high HIV rate.

Say that to Hollywood stars, you can say whatever you want about them but they do have influence.
Jamaica is also famous in the marijuana and rum world.
Rum didn't originate in Jamaica.

If you're looking for a date, I can't give you one, because their self-rule has been gathered by increments.. Cayman Islands has sufficient independence to structure their own policy regarding banking, taxation, immigrations, etc., if that is what your ambiguous question refers to.

Botswana is invariably held up as the poster child of African self-starting economic development, usually the only example in Africa that anyone can think or. I'ts influence is by example. Virtually all of Botswana's population lives within walking distance of South Africa, and has inherited their HIV rate.

I think Canada is a complete non entity, apart from the scenery, mounties, it has contributed nothing, zilch, compared to America. Canada must be the most boring ( though pretty) country on earth. In Britain Canada is NEVER mentioned in any walk of life. Sorry you have no character.

A lot of the things the US exports to the world frequently has some Canadian input.

I'm curious to learn which countries you believe hold a disproportionate influence on the world with consideration given to:

- Culture
- Population

- International presence
- Political Sway
- Military

Don't limit yourself to the big players!

For me, I'm thinking:

Disproportionately Large:
- South Korea (pop culture and products)
- Japan (Innovation, culture, products)
- Ireland (business)
- Switzerland (Banking/business)
- Russia (political/military sway)
- UK (education, culture/language, international politics)
- Israel (military, politics)

Disproportionately Small
- India
- Pakistan
- Turkey
- Mexico
- Indonesia
- Egypt
- Poland
- Philippines
I have no idea what you are talking about.
What's "disproportionate influence on the world?"
What "influence on the world" South Korea has ( for example,) taking in consideration "culture, population, language?"
UK has "proportionate" influence on the world for obvious reasons and therefore it's one of the "major players," so is Russia, whether one likes it or not. The importance of Israel has biblical roots ( among other things,) Japan is one of the "major players" yet again...
So the one and only country that fits your description, the one that has "disproportionately large influence on the world," taking in consideration that it didn't produce any distinct culture, or which doesn't even have a one distinct language, which is really small in terms of population, yet still influence the world a great deal - that would be Switzerland))))

Maybe Mexico is not influential in the context of the world, but here in Latin America it has a very strong influence.
