It's my dream to live in a beautiful place that isn't humid and rarely goes above 70. It can be near water or mountains or forest as long as it's pretty. I don't mind the rain as long as I'm not drowning in it. It doesn't have to been in the boondocks either, I just don't want a big city. Has to be a place with breathing room. If this exists in the US (I'm from Missouri) then that'll work, if not, then I'll dig up a passport. I had my eye on New Zealand, Austria, Germany, Ireland but I've never been out the country and don't klnow anyone who could tell me more about them. If anyone could be so kind of filling in the blanks, that'd be great. Please and thanks~

side note: I tried to look throw the forums to see if anyone had posted anything similar but didn't find anything so if someone has asked and received some pretty good answers then just link me.

Search for areas with a warm mediterranean climate: warm, dry summers and cool, wet winters.

San Diego's climate is pretty awesome. I know it's not a small town... But it generally stays in the 70s year round. It can get hotter but typically stays in the 70-80 range. Also, if you want to leave the mainland, Lihue, HI is known for it's steady climate year round as well. It has never been warmer than 90 degrees there.

Southern California. There is nowhere in Alabama that is 70 degrees in the summer.

Nice dream, but the reality is that you need money/visa to live in these places.

San Diego metro is sizeable, but the area definitely has a smaller town feel. Geographically it's very large, so you could easily live in a small town somewhere else in the county. Also, to avoid 70+ degree temps you'll have to stick to the coast. It gets balmy 80 degrees inland and even up to 100 further away from the coast. Of course, this is only in the summer.

Except for the humidity in summer. Nothing like the south but it is uncomfortable.

If the OP wants that type of weather without the big city, Sanata Barbara is definitely smaller and there are other towns not too far which have that type of weather too. Thing is, that part of the California coast faces south so it doesn't get the chilly northwest breeze that much of the CA coast can get. There really is no place where it's 70 year round but that's as close as you can get and not be in a big city.

Within SD County, I'd suggest Encinitas.
