Approximately what percentage of people in your country have passports or have been out of the country? I couldn't find stats on this, but I've estimated about 60% of Australians have. In my rather privileged middle to upper class upbringing (my area) it seemed few people had NOT left Australia, but mixing with people from more backgrounds it seems quite a few haven't. Despite our relative isolation we rank among the most prolific travellers per capita. Still being so large and not really super close to any nation that works against us, versus someone who lived in say Switzerland or Singapore.
Id say at least 90% but mainly within europe its very cheap to travel to the UK, Spain and Portugal from here. I dont know anyone personnaly who has never travelled abroad apart from infants and a few children.
I guess so many Canadians live so close to the border as well. It would be odd if they hadn't, haha.
What is more surprising is to meet Canadians who haven't been to the U.S. They do exist but they are a small minority.
Other than the U.S., probably close to half or maybe just over half of Canadians have been to "sun" destinations in the Caribbean (Cuba, Dominican Republic, etc.) or Mexico.
In Quebec, probably a quarter to a third of people have been to France. Maybe a bit more than that, but I am not entirely sure.
In my entourage (educated urban white collar professionals) almost everyone has been to France at least once.

The Caribbean or Mexico for Canadians is what Southeast Asia and the South Pacific is for us. There are lots of package deals to say Bali or Fiji, say as cheap as $500 for 5 nights including airfares.
Most Australians will go to Asia since it's closer and cheaper, but a lot will go to Europe and North America. I know a lot of people who've been to South America and Africa too.
Anyhow, I'm pretty sure that most Austrians visited at least one other country. Traveling overseas isn't that common, though.
I mean in terms of distance.
