When they have only traveled within their own continent?

I know too many of those... People that have visited all the major cities of their neighbor countries, London, Disney Paris, Coastal Spain, Tyrol, Venice, Rome plus some Greek Islands and then say without any shame "I have seen half of the world".

I've traveled on 3 continents and visited more places than most, but I know I've not seen half the world. My daughter also loves to travel, but while my son has done so, he prefers to stay in his area.

I feel that many people in the world (those not on citydata ) think the world is smaller than it really is.

I saw the ocean, that's 3/5 of the world.

Of the 360 meridians of longitude, I've crossed 192 of them on dry ground. That's a little more than half. That doesn't count any I flew over or crossed at sea. Of the 180 parallels of latitude, I've crossed 105 of them on land. Also a little more than half.

I doubt that there are even 1 in a million people who have actually seen half the world. Pretty much an impossibility even for someone who travels all the time.

We humans know so little.

I honestly don't care where other people have been.

I have seen around a quarter of the world, regret it, and have no plans to go anywhere else.

What's that old adage?

... the more I learn, the less I know ... arrive without traveling ... see all without looking ... do all without doing ...
