To be fair, those countries are "hosting" refugees by keeping them in refugee camps. Many of them have been there for decades. Those are not countries that accept large numbers of refugees as immigrants, to become permanent citizens.

There are refugee camps in India that have been in existence ever since India declared independence in the 1940s, and war broke out over partitioning the region into different countries. Think about that: a refugee camp that's going on 80 years old.

Actually, 68 years. A little easier to think about,because it's in my living memory.

Only a year fresher, 67 years, for Palestinian refugee camps, with over 5-million registered refugees to this day. Almost exceeding the population of Jews in Israel, who displaced them.
