Yet in terms of quality of life, there doesn't seem to be much difference:

motor vehicle ownership: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...les_per_capita

house/apartment size: How big is a house? Average house size by country | shrinkthatfootprint.com

life expectancy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...ife_expectancy

Exactly!

If there isn't much difference in quality of life between these two countries, what's the point of moving to Australia? Why would you want to put in so much effort and spend all that energy migrating to a different country for an equivalent quality of life?? I just don't get it.

Unless if you're unemployed in Canada, of course.

He's got a point there though. July in Australia can be this: https://www.google.com.au/search?q=T...+Buller+skiing Or this:https://www.google.com.au/search?q=w...IVwzuICh1ERAUb

I don't disagree. Life in Canada is cold in the winter no matter where you are. But he's in Vancouver. Hardly cold by Canadian standards. It's more likely to rain in Vancouver than snow in the winter. And BC all by itself in July, can be this:https://www.google.ca/search?q=vanco...olumbia+skiingOr this:https://www.google.ca/search?q=vanco...st+line+summer

Is it a tropical paradise like you've posted? Hell no. Is it cold? Not at all (at sea level) As a matter of fact, it down right beautiful.

Different stroke for different folks. I like 4 seasons. I think I would get bored of warm, hot, warm all the time.

But Melbourne(and Australia in general) has few maple trees as far as I know. Strictly speaking, I think it's more like three seasons in a day.
