Can any of it be blamed on the media?

This story shows the level of intelligence that Trump has. He doesn't seem to be able to connect dots, even his own dots.

These are his own words. The message is clear my Mexican/Hispanic freinds. No matter what you do they will not view you as American. Do no support this guy. And I say Hispanic because these people don't care where you might be from or what you background is, you are all the same in their eyes. You need to stand with Mexicans on this.

Why Republicans lose the Hispanic and Asian vote.

Whether intended or not, comments and policies of Mitt Romney and other Republican candidates during this election were seen by Hispanics and Asians as hostile to them, Trump says.

“Republicans didn’t have anything going for them with respect to Latinos and with respect to Asians,” the billionaire developer says.

“The Democrats didn’t have a policy for dealing with illegal immigrants, but what they did have going for them is they weren’t mean-spirited about it,” Trump says. “They didn’t know what the policy was, but what they were is they were kind.”

So this might appear to be an interesting study in perspective. There's a discrepancy here, why you might link to a video that, to you, comes across as a self-evident example of obtuse racism by the Donald, whereas others are not so convinced and have the perspective to understand when such accusations are circumstantial or engineered.

The reason for this, and the bottom line, is that listening to his speeches directly doesn't escape social programming.

Whenever you form an opinion about a person's message, even when listening to it directly, you draw upon inferences that are influenced by a framework of more basic beliefs and presuppositions that have been inculcated about the subject in general. This framework is shaped by your news sources, among other things. The danger is that the process is subliminal for most.

In this case, there is a difference between recognizing that Trump uses crude, blunt terminology, and pointing to the screen and screaming racist whenever you feel like your safe space is being violated by certain trigger words (like 'immigration' or 'wall').

It's not all waffle or theory. We can look at a number of objective red flag signs that media is shaping or engineering a population's knowledge, rather than informing it; citing two examples in this case:

1. Disproportionate media and personal scrutiny of Trump's misdemeanors.

This is not the same as saying that Trump University shouldn't raise concerns, which does come across shady (presuming that the accusations against it are tenable). The issue is that a truly free-thinking population with a balanced, unengineered perspective on political discourse should probably be much more outraged about the litany of probity concerns in the other forerunner:

2. Unilateral scrutiny upon violence by Trump supporters, despite objective examination revealing many more instances of violence by those protesting against him. Alternatively, oblique attempts to rationalize their actions, such as deflecting blame.

Watching the video just served to remind me just how ghastly Trump really is. Why any sane person would even consider voting for this fraud, and self confessed racist, just beggars belief.

Making excuses for Trump after watching that video, could only come from somebody who's in complete denial.

He is projecting- he is the one who has an issue with Mexicans and Hispanics, yet he acts like they are out to get him.

Interestingly, this judge that he is trying to discredit postponed the date of the trial until after the election (in benefit of this ungrateful boor). He was also a Federal prosecuter in the narcotics division and was the target of an assasination by drug cartels.

He is trying to discredit people on the sole basis of ethnicity, and acts like a dictator. Dictators lash out when criticized, and run countries like their personal empires, making issues all about them. it is quite disgusting, how do people not see through the façade?
