I still like it here, but I guess it's hell on earth for the working poor. And there are many of them.

The city has a lot to offer. Good food, nice beaches, great nature in general. But if you struggle daily to pay your ridiculously high rent for a 5 m2 room in Mongkok? Boy, that must suck.

Given the murder rate, poverty, and gang activity, I call BS.

It's not just about the rent. The whole deal with China is the main reason why HK is such a terrible place to live at the moment, but I guess that concerns HKers more.

Well, Hong Kong people can move to Shenzhen for example, while most Mainland Chinese can't move to HK.

Iceland and Saudi Arabia are opposite in every aspect: climate, religion, social, freedom, etc.
This leads me to believe that is the name of the country which bring happiness. "Iceland" in icelandic is "Ísland", very similar to "Islam".

There is a happiness in many Latin American countries that many in other countries will never understand. With problems and all, they learn to be happy with what they have.

I'm surprised Brazil isn't on the list, though I know there was lots of political discontent last year.

I find that many Latin Americans live in the present moment rather than spending a great deal of time worrying about the future or absorbed by their past in comparison to mainstream US culture.

Yes this is true. They also accept reality or make a new reality instead of moping around disappointed about the career they never had, how the government did this, the government didn't do that, etc...etc...I feel that Americans are such perfectionists that they are many times obsessively looking at what is wrong, instead of just living and making best with what they have in the present.
